While it\u2019s not yet available for everybody around the world, it is starting to be deployed, and it seems like everybody is talking about it. And not always in a good way&#8230; As we all know, streaming platform services are evolving in an increasingly competitive market. Especially with the arrival of players like <a href=\"https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/amazon-music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amazon Music<\/a>, who are starting to carve out a serious market share.&nbsp;What is this new interface? <strong>What&#8217;s new with Spotify&#8217;s latest design?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And above all, will it change anything for Soundiiz\u2019s users?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Why did Spotify change its design?<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The last few years have seen <strong>the emergence<\/strong> &#8211; and explosion &#8211; <strong>of TikTok<\/strong>. The app has taken everything by storm and has become, as it evolves, a more powerful music promotion tool than any other. The undisguised goal is to become, in the long run, <strong>more than a music streaming application<\/strong>. The process was initiated after the Swedish company invested in the podcast and audiobook sectors. But Spotify has obviously decided to embark on <strong>another adventure: video<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify, in a statement published on its website, summarizes its new ambitions in these words: &#8220;built for deeper discovery and more meaningful connections between artists and fans&#8221;. Spotify wants to extend discovery and allow its users to have access to new songs, albums, and podcasts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explore, explore, explore: this could well be the new motto of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>What&#8217;s new?<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>A redesigned home screen<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"942\" height=\"528\" src=\"https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-07-154145.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1596\" srcset=\"https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-07-154145.jpg 942w, https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-07-154145-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-07-154145-768x430.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 942px) 100vw, 942px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Spotify website<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify will <strong>display a vertical navigation scrolling endlessly<\/strong>, just as Tik-Tok does. At the top of the home page, you should find your usual categories. But just below, there will be an album cover or video which you can access or save in your libraries. <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2022-08-09\/spotifys-new-home-feeds-make-discovering-your-new-favorites-easy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">This vertical scrolling should<\/a> make it possible to <strong>highlight more podcasts and audiobooks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>A desire to facilitate the search for songs and artists to optimize the listener-artist relationship.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Artists will be able to <strong>post messages for their fans<\/strong>, in written, audio, or video form. These videos can last, as of now, thirty seconds tops. The length could increase in the next updates. TikTok originally featured short videos and evolved towards videos lasting several minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>The arrival of the &#8220;Smart Shuffle&#8221; function<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-06-143417.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1593\" width=\"718\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-06-143417.jpg 718w, https:\/\/soundiiz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Capture-decran-2023-04-06-143417-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 718px) 100vw, 718px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Spotify website<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Spotify will be able to <strong>add relevant songs to the playlists you are listening to<\/strong> and have already built. According to Spotify, it is one of the most awaited features by Spotify\u2019s community. The firm is known for its precise and evolving algorithm, with its Playlists and &#8220;Daily Mix&#8221; meeting the tastes of its users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>What does the Spotify community seem to think?<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To say that these new features <strong>are met with a lot of criticism <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/spotify-tiktok-video-feed-internet-reactions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">is an understatement<\/a>.<\/strong> Some users are complaining about the &#8220;Smart Shuffle\u201d. While it is based on relevant content recommendations, inserting, or rather \u201cforcing\u201d them into pre-made playlists seems to be a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others also regret that Spotify seems to be moving away from its primary objective: making music, and nothing else, available to as many people as possible. And making it easy for everybody. By adding additional content, such as video, they <strong>fear that music listening is weighed down<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, others fear that all applications will tend to copy the navigation model of TikTok.
